After months and months of preparation... it is
almost time for Highland Meadow Homes to open.
I thought i would throw a few teaser images of what we have been up to. These photos are from the "Montana" home.
I think my favourite is still the "
Berwick" model. It is a Victorian with as much historical accuracy as was feasible. To include, but not limited to, a coal room, pantry, and separate indoor servant stairs. The icebox for this house took just over 150 layers in
photoshop to create.
The homes we are making come with a kitchen and bathroom, but be warned... We did not set up the furnishings in those two areas with things like opening door to the oven. More detailed and interactive furnishings will be located a shop specifically for furnishings. We chose to use
prims for more frequently used items like curtains that will open and close individually, by room, or for the whole house. Lighting is also included in the builds. Wall lights and hanging lights are place throughout the houses. The windows and railing are
LOD stable
sculpties rather than using alphas. With the exception of the blinds used in a couple models and the custom made antique glass texture complete with a few of the standard imperfections you would find in blown glass.
The textures have all been created, with very few exceptions, specifically for these builds. Everything from kitchen cabinets to curtain valances... wallpapers and antique tin ceilings.
My
SL/
RL Partner Elliott
Eldrich did an outstanding job building the structures and i did design and texture creation. We will be opening with 12 models of homes, but more houses are already in the process.. such as what may become another favourite of mine... a Southern Plantation House.
So now you may see why i have had such little time to shop and blog. I am very much looking forward to using my portion of the profits to go on many future shopping sprees. (I
reinvest in
SL Merchants by keeping all my lindens in the game)
Much love and hugs, May health and happiness be your constant companion.
xoxo,
Kate
